Preparing for Home Showings!

Everyone always asks, “How can I prepare my home for the best showings?” One of the first things you should do is to de-clutter your home. The reasoning behind this is simple; clutter distracts the mind, as well as the imagination. A potential buyer needs to be able to see themselves and their own style in your home.

After you remove the clutter, you need to clean. Have your carpets cleaned, wax the floors, have your kids pick up their things from their floors and straighten out their closets and desks, and remove any odors from pets and smoking.

Luxurious bathrooms help significantly, and a bathroom that is clean and full of comfort is appealing to every buyer. For example, arrange new towels and rugs and burn fresh smelling candles.

Make sure that you don’t have burned out bulbs as that can make rooms look too dark. Consider buying eco-friendly fluorescent or LED lights for use in your home.

Make minor repairs in your home. Some buyers are turned-off by the slightest issue. Seeing a loose cabinet door or a warped deck board may lead a buyer to believe the home was poorly cared for and that bigger issues may arise.

Finally, clean your windows. It may not seem like a big deal, but this enables buyers to focus their attention on the beautiful grounds of your property, as opposed to spots on the glass.
